Jerry Herman (1931–2019) was a celebrated American composer and lyricist whose joyful and life-affirming musicals helped define Broadway for over five decades. Best known for creating Hello, Dolly!, Mame, and La Cage aux Folles, Herman’s work is remembered for its infectious optimism, melodic brilliance, and heartfelt storytelling. His career earned him two Tony Awards, a Grammy, a Kennedy Center Honor, and a Tony Award for Lifetime Achievement, cementing his legacy as one of musical theatre’s most vital and enduring figures.

Cast

  • Nancy Evans Begley is the Founding Director and Producing Artistic Director for VP Theatre Arts and is thrilled to both produce and perform in VPTA’s inaugural, independently produced production! She is a critically acclaimed, award-winning actor, singer, dancer, director, and producer based in Parker, Colorado. With a performance and education background that spans light opera, musical theatre, dance, coaching, and beyond, her voice and presence have captivated audiences across the globe.

    On stage, Nancy’s notable Colorado credits include The Drowsy Chaperone (Drowsy), Mary Poppins (Mary Poppins), 9 to 5, The Musical (Violet Newstead), A Chorus Line (Sheila Bryant), Nunsense (Sister Hubert), Hairspray (Velma Von Tussle), Footloose (Ethel McCormack), A Quiet Thing (Producer, Director, Performer), An Unexpected Song (Producer, Director, Performer), and What We Did for Love (Producer, Director, Performer), among many others. Her performances have earned her the Marlowe Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Musical, recognition by the Colorado Theatre Guild for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Musical for her portrayal of Drowsy/Beatrice in The Drowsy Chaperone, and, most recently, a Denver Gazette True West Award for her work as a producer.

    Nancy holds a BFA in Musical Theatre Performance from Metropolitan State University of Denver, is an ongoing education student at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, and spent a decade training at the Perry-Mansfield Conservatory in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. She has produced works ranging from intimate cabarets to large-scale musicals, bringing a signature blend of creativity, precision, and heart to every project.

    Beyond the arts, Nancy is the Founder and CEO of Queen B Enterprises, LLC, a nationally recognized sales leadership and consulting firm specializing in building and scaling world-class sales organizations. As a trusted advisor to enterprise-level and mega-producing real estate teams nationwide, she provides expert coaching, strategic management, advanced training, and innovative go-to-market planning. A celebrated keynote speaker and dynamic connector in the realms of sales, business development, and marketing, she has been featured on national stages and is widely regarded as a “best-in-class” thought leader.

    Whether in the boardroom or on the stage, Nancy’s career is defined by her passion for creativity, collaboration, and excellence. Her ability to unite business strategy with artistic vision has made her a sought-after leader across multiple industries.

  • Ali is thrilled to make her PLUSS Theatre Debut in “Jerry’s Girls.” Originally from NYC, Ali has most recently been seen at the PACE Center as Sister Robert Anne in “Nunsense” and as Paulette in “Legally Blonde.” Some other Denver performances include “The Last Session” at Town Hall Arts Center and “In the Heights” at the Vintage Theatre.

    Ali entertained audiences in Off-Broadway and Regional theatres before taking a break from acting to work as a Music Therapist and spend time with her son, Aston. Some of Ali’s favorite roles include Adelaide in “Guys and Dolls", Kim in “Bye Bye Birdie” and Gertie Cummings in “Oklahoma”.

    Ali received her B.F.A in Musical Theatre from CAP21 at NYU’s Tisch School of  the Arts, and also studied classical theatre in London at LAMDA. Ali would like to thank her husband, Woosik for all of his support and love.

  • Dana Hart Wright has performed in New York, on tour and regionally as well as in film and television. Colorado performing credits include; The 24 Hour Plays (Curious Theatre Company), Small Ball workshop (The Catamounts), Fiddler on the Roof and Lend Me a Tenor (Ovation West), The Fever Dream Festival (Benchmark Theatre Company), The Graduate (Edge Theatre Company), Threepenny Opera and A Child’s Christmas in Wales (Miners Alley Playhouse), Carrie and Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown (Equinox Theatre), Jacques Brel is Alive..., and London Suite (Denver Victorian). Colorado directing credits include; The Hombres (Vintage Theatre), I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change (Ovation West) and An Angel Cried a Tear Last Night (Denver Fringe).

    Recently, out of town Dana appeared Off-Broadway in a new play, Bee, and she directed and performed in And The World Goes Round at the Manship Theatre in Baton Rouge. Some of her favorite New York/tour credits include South Pacific, the premiere of The Man in the Iron Mask, Fiorello, Oliver, Spike Heels and Proof. In addition to traditional theatre, Dana has worked in devised theatre collaborating with such companies as The Tectonic Theatre Project, the SITI Company and the Meredith Monk Repertory.

    She holds an MFA in acting and a Bachelor’s degree in musical theatre. Dana is excited to be returning to the stage after taking a four year hiatus in order to focus on her family. Dana’s “day job” is working as a special education instructional coach and freelance special education and disability advocate. Dana’s favorite role to date is mommy to four and a half year old Fanora Jade.

    This performance is dedicated to William Wesbrooks and Michael Ricciardone, two of the most impactful teachers, and biggest cheerleaders I have ever had. Every time I sing material like this, I think about what I learned from both of you as a 19-year-old at NYU. I am beyond lucky to still have you both in my life. Thank you to Nancy for saying, “Let’s do it!,” and to Ali for being a little piece of home in Colorado. Thank you to Stefanie Anduri, one of the best voice teachers I’ve ever had. Thank you to Jono for creating the space, and providing the support I need in order to delve back into theatre—you’re the most beautiful partner.

    Next up: Dana will be directing 9 to 5 the musical at Vintage Theatre.

  • Katie Reid Milazzo grew up in Colorado and is thrilled to be back home after 15+ years performing and teaching around the country. After graduating with a BFA in musical theater from The University of Oklahoma, she moved directly to The Big Apple and, for the next few years, Katie traveled the country in the National Touring companies of Annie (Ronnie Boylan), ‘S Wonderful (Jane) and as Nellie Forbush in Lincoln Center’s South Pacific. She has also performed regionally in Marvelous Wonderettes, Last Five Years, Sweeney Todd, Oklahoma, Full Monty, The Who’s Tommy, Ordinary Days, The Princess and the Pea, Land of Forgotten Toys and more. Colorado credits include Performance Now's Nunsense (Sister Robert Anne), White Christmas (Betty Haynes) , Give 5 Production's Footloose (Vi Moore - Henry Nomination for Best Actress) and Town Hall Arts Center's I Love You…Change (Woman 2).  

    After eight years in NYC, Katie moved to Chicago where she expanded her performing career to teaching and directing. She worked as a director, music director, and production manager for the award winning program BRAVO Performing Arts. She had the opportunity to work with MTI and Disney Theatricals on several pilot versions of junior shows, including Wicked JR, Frozen JR, Freaky Friday JR and The Big One Oh. Katie’s passion for education has continued to grow in Colorado as the Resident Acting Director at Performing Arts Academy (PAA) in Highlands Ranch where she directs, music directs, and teaches shows and classes. She also proudly serves as a Cultural Commissioner for the Town of Parker. 

    She is beyond excited to work with Veritas again after making her professional directorial debut with School of Rock at Parker Arts in 2023. Thank you to the Mizel, to Veritas (Nancy and Noah, how grateful we are to have you in our lives!), to this fabulous cast, band and crew, and above all, my thanks and love always to Michael and Rose.

  • Aldo Allgoode is a music director, pianist, songwriter, and arranger living in Denver, CO. He is thrilled to be part of Veritas Theatre Arts’ debut production. NY credits include: Wicked (B’way), The Apple Tree (City Center/Encores), John and Jen (Lincoln Center), Bernstein’s Trouble in Tahiti (PHTS), and Threepenny Opera (Columbia Univ. Theatre). Regionally, as music director: XANADU and The Fantasticks (Creede Rep), Five Guys Named Moe (Weston Playhouse), Chicago (Morgan-Wixson Theatre), Yeston’s Phantom (Shawnee Performing Arts), and Into The Woods (Crossroads Theatre).

    Aldo’s songs have been performed locally at such venues as: Dazzle at DCPA, Jazz at City Park, The Roxy, Roaming Gnome Theatre, and Vintage Theatre. Big thank you to our cast, creative team, and crew, who were born to play the two-a-day!

  • Rebecca is grateful for the opportunity to work with this amazing cast & crew! She has been choreographing and performing professionally in the Denver area for many years. Rebecca’s choreography credits include Newsies(Performance Now Theater Company);  The Addams Family (Grandview High School); Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (PNTC, Assistant Choreographer); Carousel (PNTC, Co-Choreographer); Nunsense (Veritas Productions, Assistant Choreographer). Favorite past performances include: White Christmas, The Music Man,Seussical, The Drowsy Chaperone, Nice Work if You Can Get It, A Chorus Line, Hello Dolly, and West Side Story. 

    Rebecca was a founding company member of Apex Dance, where she performed original works and lead roles choreographed by David Reuille and served as rehearsal director. She also danced several seasons with Ballet Ariel as a soloist and now serves as the company’s Operations Manager for Ballet Ariel. Additional professional credits include David Taylor Dance Theatre, Chadash Dance, 7Dancers, Kim Robards Dance, and Ballet Magnificat. Rebecca also served for many years as the Ballet Director at Colorado School of Dance, where she directed, choreographed, and staged full length classical and original ballet productions. She thanks Chris and Annabelle for their love and support.

  • Allie has worked in Colorado as stage manager for Sasquatch’s The Addams Family, assistant stage manager for Veritas’ Nunsense and School of Rock, and run crew for Sasquatch’s Wizard of Oz and Sound of Music, as well as Inspire’s Clue. Allie has worked at the Denver Fringe Festival as stage/venue manager for the past four years. From 2014-2016, Allie worked as a stage manager in MA, DC, VA, NYC, and at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Thanks to mom and dad for Chulo-sitting!

  • Connor is a seasoned Stage Manager with over 10 years of experience in the local theater community. He first collaborated with Veritas Productions LLC founder Nancy Evans Begley in 2015 during West Side Story at the PACE Center and is honored to be a part of this incredible company.

    Known for his strong communication skills and reliability, Connor prioritizes the safety and comfort of the cast while ensuring smooth production operations. His meticulous attention to detail and unique perspective provide a steady foundation, allowing the creative team to trust that their vision will be consistently realized.

    Connor’s leadership style aligns seamlessly with the EPICC core values of Veritas Productions LLC, where professionalism and excellence are at the heart of every production.

  • Cole Emarine was last seen as Franz in Veritas’ production of Rock of Ages, The Arbiter in BrightHeart Stages acclaimed production of Chess which he also costumed, King Basilius in Head Over Heels and was on the First National Tour of Motones and Jerseys: In Concert. Colorado audiences may remember Cole as Shakespeare in Something Rotten!, Mordred in Camelot, Christopher in The Mousetrap, Ted in Holiday Inn, Bert in Mary Poppins  and Race in Newsies. A Colorado Native, Cole has performed across the Front Range for Arvada Center, Lone Tree Arts Center, BDT Stage, Littleton Town Hall and OpenStage. Favorites include Angel (RENT), Mark (Altar Boyz), Cosmo (Singin’ in the Rain), Mistofolees in Cats (Denver Post Ovation Nomination) and traveling the world performing for Holland America Line.

    Cole’s work as a choreographer and award winning costume designer has been seen across the country most recently winning the 2023 Bobby G Award for How to Succeed… and the 2024 Marlowe Award and OSCA for The Legend of Georgia McBride.

  • Brett Maughan is a freelance lighting designer. He was the Resident LD for BDT Stage, where he lit Something Rotten,Footloose, Peter & the Starcatcher, and Mary Poppins(2015 Henry Award), to name a few, and frequently designs for the Aurora Fox, Performance Now, Platte Valley Theatre Arts, Veritas Productions, Candlelight Dinner Playhouse, Give 5 Productions, and Town Hall Arts Center. Favorite designs: Rock of Ages (twice: BDT & Veritas), Caroline or Change (Aurora Fox), Hedwig & the Angry Inch (twice: Aurora Fox & Give 5 - 2025 Henry Award), American Idiot(Town Hall) and Drowsy Chaperone (Performance Now - 2022 Henry Award).

  • Curt is grateful to once again be working with Veritas Productions. He is a 3 time Henry Award nominee, a 2019 True West award winner and has been mixing and/or designing theatrical productions and mixing bands for 30+ years.  Favorites include: Rock of Ages, On Your Feet, Once, American Idiot, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Sweeney Todd, Jesus Christ Superstar, and mixing blues artist Susan Tedeschi.  Curt would like to thank Nancy for the continued opportunities and his family for their love and never ending support.

  • Andrew's set design work has been seen in Performance Now Theatre Company's productions of Joseph...Dreamcoat (2025 Henry Award for Outstanding Scenic Design), The Drowsy Chaperone (2022 Henry Award Nominee- Outstanding Scenic Design), and Little Women. He was also the Scenic Designer for the 2024 Veritas production of Nunsense.  To Amy, Victor, and Etta; I love you enormously.   • Johnny Torres is an eager, young bassist in the Denver Metro area. Mainly a jazz musician, Johnny also has a love for musical theatre. His past credits include: The Addams Family, Young Frankenstein, Footloose, and most recently, Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812. Johnny is currently receiving his BM in Jazz Bass Performance from MSU Denver. He is excited and grateful to be involved in this production!
