ABOUT THE SHOW:
This crowd-pleasing musical is inspired by and features the iconic songs of ELVIS PRESLEY® – and it’s about to rock your world!
It’s 1955, and into a square, little town in a square, little state rides a guitar-playing young man who changes everything—and everyone—he meets. Set to a soundtrack of legendary hits like “Heartbreak Hotel,” “Jailhouse Rock,” and “Don’t Be Cruel,” this hip-swiveling, lip-curling celebration of rebellion and romance will have you jumpin’ out of your blue suede shoes.
Loosely based on Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, All Shook Up shakes things up with a whirlwind of comedy, mistaken identities, and toe-tapping tunes that keep the energy high and the laughs rolling. From the moment the music starts, you’ll be swept into a story where hearts race, rules break, and love rocks the town.
Don’t miss your chance to experience this electrifying, high-octane musical that’s guaranteed to leave you ‘All Shook Up’ and wanting more!

SEEKING: We are casting a tight ensemble of 17-18 performers, 18 years or older. We celebrate our youth performers, but we will not cast anyone under 18 for this production. Ensemble tracks will understudy principals and play multiple roles. We are seeking a diverse cast of triple-threat performers—each must be able to move well (Mayor Matilda, Jim, and Sylvia have movement but not complex dance) —and we are specifically looking for advanced dancers & singers for our ensemble. Our ensemble cast should be comfortable with partnering and some lifts. Basic acrobatics & gymnastics are a huge plus!
WHAT TO PREPARE: All interested candidates must submit a preliminary, 1-minute vocal audition video of a song in the style of the show (reels and performance videos will not be accepted - we need to see just you in a natural setting - please do not perform content from the show in your submission). You will be asked to complete the audition form, acknowledge the content and code of ethics, and attach your headshot and resume for our team’s review.

CONTENT & LICENSING: Parker Arts & Veritas Productions are contracted to perform All Shook Up as written. No edits to the script or score will be made to accommodate actor preferences, as this would violate our licensing agreement. At its heart, All Shook Up is a joyful, vibrant, community-oriented song-and-dance spectacle that brings love and laughter to audiences. With that said, please be aware that there is some sensitive content in this script around race, discrimination, gender, and sexual orientation. The content is expressed in dialogue and staging. Please ensure you are comfortable with this content before committing to an audition and a potential casting offer. The perusal script link is included for your review.

OUR PROCESS: (Please read this carefully, as it is a different process from past submissions):
We must receive video vocal submissions by midnight on Friday, January 16th, 2026. Our team will review all vocal auditions collaboratively. Should we wish to see more, we will invite you to the dance call, held on Sunday, January 25th, 2026, from 6-10 pm. If you are then called back for a role, OR if we need to see/hear more from you vocally or theatrically, we will schedule a callback time for you on Wednesday, January 28th, between 6-10 pm.
You MUST be available to attend the dance call and callbacks, if invited, in person to be considered for casting. Out-of-state candidates should be aware that Veritas Productions does not provide housing, per diem, or travel stipends. You must also be available in person for the dance call and callback, if invited, to be considered for casting. If you are an out-of-state candidate, please consider all of this before submitting.
We are committed to notifying candidates about casting within three days of the final callback. We notify all parties within that time frame by phone with a casting offer, and we send an email to those we do not cast. If there is any delay or adjustment to our timeline, we will notify all candidates via email and set clear expectations.
COMPENSATION: Veritas Productions is a non-union, professional production company. We do not make any claims to pay a livable weekly wage. We compensate our talent at above-market, non-union rates for all productions. Please consider compensation information before submitting.
All actors are paid a $300 rehearsal stipend and $45/performance. We believe in pay equity for all performers, regardless of track, for our productions. Understudies will be compensated double show pay if they perform their assigned cover role at any performance. Put-in rehearsals may be necessary during the run and are included in the rehearsal stipend. Understudy performances are not guaranteed.
A bonus may be offered based on ticket sales, in addition to the base compensation. This is at the Producer’s discretion.

CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS:
A small you-never-heard-of-it town somewhere in the Midwest
THE TIME
A twenty-four-hour period, during the summer of 1955.
CAST OF CHARACTERS
NATALIE HALLER – A young woman and an excellent mechanic. She's much more at home in
greasy overalls rather than a dress. Dance required. Inspired by Twelfth Night, Natalie becomes “Ed”, and as “Ed”, kisses Chad.
CHAD – A great-lookin', motorcyclin', guitar-playin', leather-jacketed roustabout. Dance required. Scripted with action to remove shirt in Act 2. Scripted kiss with Natalie (as “Ed”).
JIM HALLER – Natalie's widowed father. Middle-aged and messy, he still longs for his wife. Jim should be able to move well, but doesn’t have to be a technical dancer. Includes scripted intimacy with Sylvia.
SYLVIA (Black artist required) – This role is cast and will be played by Arabella Beaubrun. We will be seeing people to understudy this role. The no-nonsense, African-American owner of SYLVIA'S HONKY-TONK. Sylvia should be able to move well, but doesn’t have to be a technical dancer. Includes scripted intimacy with Jim.
LORRAINE (Black artist required) -- Sylvia's teenage daughter. Pretty, smart, and a total romantic (explores themes of interracial romance). Dance required. Includes scripted intimacy with Dean.
DENNIS – An awkward young man. He aspires to be a dentist. Dennis should be a good mover but doesn’t have to be a technical dancer.
MISS SANDRA – The beautiful, intellectual caretaker of the town's museum. Dance required.
MAYOR MATILDA HYDE – The town's very conservative (includes voicing disapproval of interracial romantic relationships and use of the word “colored”) mayor. Some movement required, no technical dance requirement. Includes scripted intimacy with Earl.
DEAN HYDE – Matilda's son. He spent his youth at military boarding schools and has never disobeyed his mother (until he explores an interracial romance). Dance required. Includes scripted intimacy with Lorraine.
SHERIFF EARL (will double in dance ensemble) – The law in town and a man of few words. He loyally follows the Mayor wherever she goes. Dance required. Includes scripted intimacy with Mayor Matilda.
ENSEMBLE (any ethnicity) plays an assortment of TOWNSPEOPLE—3-4 male-presenting and 4 female-presenting triple threats — who will also understudy the principals. Technical dance ability required.
*Please note, ensemble offers may be contingent on the artist’s willingness to understudy a principal role. Please ensure you are able and willing to do this before indicating you will accept ensemble. Thank you!
